Abstract:
An overview is made on somatic embryogenesis and genetic transformation of Eucalyptus in the paper. The impact of the genotype, explant material, media, light, plant growth regulators and other additives on embryogenic callus inducing and somatic embryogenesis of Eucalyptus is discussed. A few of the factors which affect the establishment of genetic transformation system of Eucalyptus are studied. Researches of somatic embryogenesis and genetic transformation of Eucalyptus in recent years are also introduced.Key words: Eucalyptus; somatic embryos; genetic transformation; plantlet regeneration
